The aim of this course is to provide attendees with a full overview of what is at stake in the building and maintaining of travel information and wayfinding systems focused on user needs and expectations. The course will introduce and illustrate a practical toolbox of methods needed to design and deliver efficient and effective travel information provision throughout public transport user journeys, organized in five main categories – space-related information, time-related information, navigation / orientation, user behaviour and service disruption mitigation.
The course will focus on how to improve existing public travel information / wayfinding systems to ensure relevance in current, real-world environments and will be combined with a workshop offering hands-on experience to participants.
