Integration of Urban Planning and Public Transport

UITP Academy and LTA Academy Singapore are jointly launching an online course on Integration of Urban Planning and Public Transport, starting on 15 February 2022 and ending on 22 February 2022.   The course features 7 interactive online sessions and international case studies.

• Urban mobility planning and impact on cities
• Correlation between urban development plan and transport planning
• Examples of integrating urban and transport planning
• TOD, Transit Oriented Development and impact of land use on public transport use and operations
• Design of transport (road) infrastructure in favour of public transport
• Monocentric and polycentric development and effect on transportation
• Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP) and difference with conventional transport planning
• Change in mindset to create liveable and accessible cities by SUMP
• Supporting public transport use through improved pedestrian and cycling facilities
• Mobility and demand management
• Parking policy and integration with public transport, P+R, P+Bike
• Funding of public transport system from various sources (parking, employer tax, property tax, congestion charge etc.); push and pull measures
• Electronic fare collection system and integration

• Participate in interactive online sessions which include an introduction by course leaders and open discussions with participants
• Apply your concepts during the online workshop
• Exchange your current practices and experience with your peers
