By 2050, 70% of the world’s population—amounting to 6.8 billion people—will be living in urban areas. As a consequence, urban passenger transport is projected to grow by 60-70% by 2050, leading to increased traffic. Africa and Asia will experience the largest growth in urban populations. By 2030, Africa will have 41 megacities, and the continent’s population is expected to double by 2050, reaching 2.5 billion. One out of two Africans will live in a city, with most of the growth occurring in smaller cities. Rapid urbanization will pose significant challenges for cities, particularly in providing mobility to those living in emerging urban centers. Quick responses and decisive action are essential to meet daily mobility needs and address congestion. In many cities, the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is seen as an efficient and quick solution for moving passengers. In this training, you will learn the decision-making criteria behind the scenes, as well as how to successfully implement and operate a BRT system.
This course is only adapted to participants demonstrating fluency in English.
Our skillful trainers are composed of international experts and professionals with extensive experience and knowledge in the planning and operations of BRT systems.
