To develop the integrated sustainable mobility systems of the future, our sector must continually invest in research and innovation projects that centre on improving customer journeys. We are always looking for ways to attract young professionals with new sets of skills to bring a fresh perspective to our age-old industry.
UITP is also involved in third party funded research and innovation projects. Check them out on our projects page!
UITP has developed a Research in Mobility Committee, comprised of universities, academic institutions, operators and industry players to exchange knowledge on future developments in the public transport sector. It also strengthens links between research and practice, and supports UITP initiatives with academic expertise.
Through our daughter foundation, Youth for Public Transport (Y4PT), we furthermore encourage bringing young, creative and innovative minds together from around the world to solve current local mobility issues and better prepare for the future.
Research is an activity that is utilised universally beyond only universities and academic centres. So naturally, the exchange must include the whole public transport ecosystem. We are convinced collective intelligence and knowledge sharing is stronger than working in silos.
