In a novel approach, this study is based on an online user survey conducted by the UITP MENA Centre for Transport Excellence (CTE) in the summer of 2021 with the support of UITP members and partners.
With the objective of identifying potential changes in travel behavior since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the report analyses findings related to trip-making patterns, modal choice, and feedback on existing public transport services in MENA.
“Travel behaviour refers to trip making, that is your daily trips such as going to work, school, shopping and social events.”
Based on survey responses from public transport users and non-users from MENA countries including Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Bahrain, the UAE, Lebanon, KSA etc., the report also identifies measures to meet post-COVID user needs via a series of suggested service level improvements.
