The economy of public transport today

Taking the pulse of our sector

Time for a temperature check. Every other year, UITP conducts a survey to gauge the financial health and future of public transport organisations across the world. The results help paint a picture of the prevailing trends in public transport – before any complete data comes available – which can ultimately help us better understand where we are as a sector and where we are headed.

This Statistics Brief outlines the results of the survey and explores the key public transport trends today as shared by both operators and authorities globally. On important topics like ridership, revenue, fare policy, and planned investments, more than 100 UITP members shared their insights.
