Clean buses for Europe

Results from over 70 cities

Decarbonisation is essential to the development of clean, liveable, and vibrant cities. And deploying low- and zero-emission buses was the mission of the Clean Bus Europe Platform (CBEP). Between July 2019 and June 2023, the project brought together public transport professionals from over 70 European cities who joined in this ambitious programme.

“We have given cities who are looking to make their fleets more sustainable the contacts and tools to make that happen. I’d like to think of the Platform as a strong launch of a European partnership that will continue for many years to come.”
Aida Abdulah
Head of Mobility Enablers Unit, UITP

The results of CBEP activities act as a springboard for wider positive change and decarbonisation. For example, CBEP activities helped Suceava, Romania electrify its entire bus fleet and for Transport for West Midlands, UK to order Europe’s biggest delivery of battery and hydrogen buses.
