With the introduction and deployment of cooperative, connected and automated mobility (CCAM), Europe’s mobility sector is undergoing significant transformation. This shift is creating uncertainty for the public and for businesses that rely on EU transport systems, while also giving rise to new skills requirements, emerging job profiles, and a growing need to support both workers and employers in navigating the transition.
The EU-funded RESKILLING project brings together 20 partners from across Europe, spanning CCAM expertise, education and training, workforce development, and social inclusion. Together, they aim to address these challenges and contribute to a fair and inclusive transition for the transport workforce.
RESKILLING will develop a comprehensive, forward-looking strategy grounded in co-creation and social innovation. It will examine the socio-economic and employment impacts of CCAM across the entire transport value chain, offering practical support and tailored tools to help stakeholders adapt. Through applied research and strong stakeholder engagement, the project seeks to help the mobility sector, both passenger and freight, respond proactively to change, mitigate negative impacts, and harness the opportunities presented by CCAM to foster sustainable employment and strengthen societal capacity for social innovation.
