On behalf of the UITP Asia-Pacific Division, we thank all our guests who joined the first edition of the UITP Singapore New Year Reception on 31 January 2019, and express our sincere gratitude to our partners, NEC Asia Pacific, Transport Control Technology and Volvo Buses who contributed to the success of the evening.
Enjoying stunning views of Singapore’s famous Boat Quay, food and drinks at a prime location with first seats on the Bridges of Time light and sound show on the Singapore River, about a hundred of public transport professionals, members and supporters of UITP, engaged with their peers to make 2019 a year of successful collaborations!
We were honoured to welcome Jeremy Yap, Deputy Chief Executive of Public Transport, Policy and Planning at Land Transport Authority (LTA) for a keynote speech, presenting Singapore’s vision and strategies to embrace a forward-looking land transport development of the city-state.
UITP is nurturing a close collaboration with LTA, partnering on many projects through its Asia-Pacific Centre for Transport Excellence (UITP AP CTE) such as the bi-yearly Singapore International Transport Congress & Exhibition (SITCE), bespoke research studies for the Asia-Pacific region and training programmes attended by worldwide participants.
The publication Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Mass Public Transport was launched at the reception, the outcome of a year-long study conducted by UITP AP CTE aiming to demystify AI, raise awareness in the public transport sector using a landscape analysis and provide insights to organisations who may be considering AI-powered solutions. The report is now available for purchase at a starting price of 100 euros for members and 200 euros for non-members. (Please contact [email protected] to order your copy.)
Finally, dates of key UITP events in 2019 were announced, including:
