As a member-led organisation, UITP is defined by those who call our association home.
With more than 1900 members in over 100 countries, UITP takes great pride in bringing our members as close to our association as possible, and when it comes to coordinating their activities at our events, in our exhibitions, or through their learnings with our Academy…
We need the very best person to lead that strategic output.
As we get closer to the launch date of the world’s largest event in our sector, strong leadership is required to drive that direction forward to the UITP Global Public Transport Summit, and beyond.
With this in mind, UITP is delighted to announce that the newly-titled Events and Academy Services Department will be led by Lindsey Mancini.
Known to the UITP membership across the globe, Lindsey has been a familiar face to many through her various roles across the association in a storied 18-year UITP career…
Having joined the association in 2005, Lindsey first worked as an assistant in the then Knowledge and Membership Services Department (KMS), then becoming a manager, where she was responsible for managing UITP Committees such as Security, Waterborne, and then later I.T.
During her tenure as a Senior Manager, Lindsey developed security training programmes and acted as a trainer, leading the content presented to our Academy attendees – making a perfect link to her role as now Senior Director.
She then put her global outlook and skills to use by becoming Regional Account Manager for UITP’s North America activities.
Leaning in to her North American experience, Lindsey took the helm of the world’s biggest event dedicated to public transport and urban mobility when she was promoted to the role of Project Manager for the UITP World Congress and Exhibition in Montreal, 2017.
And bringing her time at UITP full circle, she heads the department where the (now) UITP Global Public Transport Summit is housed!
With an impressive tenure in between as Head of our Secretary General’s Office, coordinating and managing all international activities for our SGO, Lindsey took ownership of UITP’s output on Women in Leadership and the strategic direction of our work on gender equality. Lindsey continues to manage our diversity and inclusion output, alongside her new role.
With the lead up the 2023 Global Summit in Barcelona, it’s never been more important to carefully coordinate all of the activities around our Summit…
Lindsey began her career at UITP in the summer of 2005, having leaned into her educational background in languages, first as a Lecturer at the College Saint-Just, followed by her work as an English-language tutor for ESCP-EAP.
Now, she will take the lead of the UITP Events, Exhibition, Academy and Global and Annual Summit teams, managing and coordinating the activities and output of the international colleagues in all Units within her department.
Our events and exhibition teams are hard at work putting the final touches to the output for the 2023 edition of the UITP Global Summit. They are also working on the strategy for the 2025 and 2027 editions, when our Summit moves to an annual edition, beginning in Hamburg in the summer of 2025.
The UITP Academy, our in-house training school, is also under the management of Lindsey, where our trainings have reached record numbers, with more international attendees than ever before.
With her diplomacy, reliability, and excellent communication skills, Lindsey is a calm voice in these busy times – with a sense of humour when needed along the way!
The output of our events, exhibition and Academy teams has never been more important as UITP works with our international membership to reunite the sector at our various meetings, trainings and events. Our Global Summit this June will showcase what these units are capable of when it comes to delivering on their excellent services. Having worked closely with Lindsey for many years, I know that her reputation, ability and achievements are well earned, and that under her guidance the department will achieve many successes.

Attracted by the mission and international environment that the association promised, I jumped at the chance to work at UITP back in 2005. It did not disappoint. I have been extremely lucky in my career to be involved in so many aspects of the association. Being entrusted to lead the fabulous teams at the beating heart of UITP, organising the Summit, events, exhibitions and Academy services, is a dream come true…
With her new position, Lindsey joins the UITP Management Board with immediate effect.
The new leadership of the Events and Academy Services Department began in April.
Congratulations Lindsey!
