Case studies & success stories

Over 1,900 international public transport organisations bring their expertise to UITP. And that knowledge is valuable! Our members across the world are constantly innovating to improve public transport, and in turn, the quality of life of citizens. To share the sector’s top insights, you can now use our new case studies collection tool!

It goes without saying that highlighting these success stories is important. By sharing our knowledge, we can build on tried-and-tested strategies and boost their positive impact. After all, we live in a world where all actors in public transport face similar challenges and opportunities, from the introduction of artificial intelligence, to reducing carbon emissions, and digitalisation. Given how universal these trends are, knowing what others are doing is more relevant than ever.

“The wealth of information shared through UITP is of high value for the public and urban transport sector. With these case studies we are delighted to make available the excellence of our members initiatives highlighted in their applications to the UITP awards.”

The best in public transport

With the tool, you can explore developments, innovations, and best practices submitted by over 40 authorities, operators, researchers, and industry leaders from around the globe.

Since 1885, we have always celebrated the success of UITP members. At the 2023 UITP Summit in Barcelona, the UITP Awards showcased the best in operational excellence. To kick-start the tool’s launch, the case studies collection will highlight the great work of the many nominees and winners of the UITP Awards. Over time, we’ll expand the tool to the broader sector and create a wider knowledge base.

While the challenges and needs of citizens vary from place to place, all public transport professionals are in the same boat – we want efficient and effective public transport and mobility solutions that can facilitate equitable economic growth and decarbonise our cities.

Using this tool, we can exchange knowledge and maximise the success of our sector. And that is what UITP membership is all about!
