In 2021, UITP launched a brand-new Scholarship Programme to offer the next generation of sector leaders the chance to expand their knowledge under the guidance of industry experts.
Lauching the programme, we encouraged applicants to use this new opportunity to develop their careers with a series of courses taken through the year…
And after the outstanding success of the 2021-2022, 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 intakes, we are delighted to announce the renewal of our Academy Scholarship for a fourth consecutive year.
In all previous years, numerous interested applications arrived from all corners of the globe – with the number of would-be Scholars growing year-on-year.
For last year’s intake, our jury selected Simisola Elegba, Anna Oliveira, Michaela Tullao and Suresh Kumar Vardanapu to become the latest scholars to elevate their careers.
Now, you have the opportunity to follow in their footsteps as the UITP Scholarship Programme will enter into a new term for 2024-2025.
Are you working in the public transport sector? Do you want the opportunity to move forward in your career? Then our Scholarship is open to you!
Renewing the Academy Scholarship for a fourth consecutive year is testament to the opportunities the programme has offered our previous scholars. Year-on-year interest from young professionals across the globe is growing, as is the dedication of our trainers in encouraging the next generation of leaders. I’m very pleased that our Academy team is ready to welcome a new class for 2024-2025 and I hope their eventual programme is both rewarding and inspiring.”
The scholarship is once again being offered to five people who will study for two compulsory core courses and two elective courses during the 2024-2025 programme.
We’ll offervirtual classroom training sessions, with physical sessions remaining an option down the line.
It’s open to people under 40 years of age who are employees within the public transport sector – working for a UITP member company, or from a non-member.
In order to best assist the next generation of public transport colleagues, applicants must be from developing countries where the GDP per capita is under USD 20k (as per World Bank consideration).
The courses will take place with a wide variety of experts at the helm, and more choices will come in the next stages of selection. UITP reserves the right to alter the available selections.
We hope to receive a wide variety of inspiring and passionate applicants!
The deadline to apply is 31 May 2024.
