Metro Istanbul partners with UITP to establish Regional Training Centre

New UITP Regional Training Centre opens in Istanbul

Metro Istanbul and UITP have agreed to partner on the establishment of a Regional Training Centre (RTC), as confirmed during the 2023 Global Transport Summit.

The agreement signed by Mr Brieuc De Meeûs, Deputy President of UITP and Chairman of the STIB Management Committee, and Mr Ozgur Soy, General Manager of Metro Istanbul, establishing Metro Istanbul as the ninth RTC for UITP worldwide.

The RTC will provide training on all aspect of public transport and sustainable urban mobility.  The first training programme on ‘Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management’, was held recently from 4-6 July 2023, with additional courses taking place later in the year.
