With safety as our number one priority, UITP together with the local host have decided to postpone the MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition.
The event which was due to be held at the World Trade Center in Dubai on 13-15 April 2020, will now take place on 5-7 October, 2020 at the same location (DWTC).
As global concerns over the coronavirus outbreak continue to grow, the wellbeing of all exhibitors, delegates, employees and visitors is the first focus of UITP.
In light of these developing circumstances, we have concluded that postponing the event is the best decision to ensure the safest environment for all stakeholders.
“We have closely followed the developing situation, not only within Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, but at the international level. The MENA Congress and Exhibition is a global event and we have listened closely to all information and advice coming from the competent authorities, our partners, and members. We have full trust in the precautions taken at the local level and remain committed to hosting the event at the later date. We thank everyone for their understanding and support.”
The current situation internationally is having a direct impact on cross-border traffic with many uncertainties related to additional screening measures, flight restrictions, and more.
UITP is also sensitive to the fact that many sector players, whether authorities or operators, have the important task of combating the spread of the virus as their own number one priority.
Held under the theme “Building the Future of Mobility”, the event brings together the key urban mobility players within the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa).
Held since 2007, the MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition is a biennial event promoting public transport throughout the region.
We take this opportunity to thank all of our partners, sponsors and exhibitors and count on their continued support to make the event an even greater success next October.
