Crown Prince of Dubai inaugurates the Hamdan Smart Station for Simulation and Training

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, inaugurated, “Hamdan Smart Station for
Training and Simulation”.

Hamdan Smart Station for Simulation and Training is established in line with the strategy of Transport Security Department aiming to develop security systems across  public transportation sector in the emirate of Dubai. In addition to that, it will provide comprehensive smart training that will enhance the competencies and capabilities of  cadre in accordance with the highest standards and best international practices. The smart station, which covers an area of 3,200 square meters, is a model that simulated a real metro station in Dubai, where there is the main station, concourse area, train, ticketing cabin and other service station facilities such as retail outlet, exchange shop and the police office. The station also includes four training halls characterized by its designs and the training objectives.
Station concourse area and the Train is the main location in Hamdan Smart Station in which the staff is trained in the procedures to deal with the various security conditions that can be encountered at the station such as suspicious objects and suspected persons beside other security cases. The concourse area a is a safe training environment for various specialized working teams at TSD; such as the security inspection team and the K9 team.

 

The Smart Station for Simulation and Testing was also congratulated on winning the Guinness World Record for the biggest workshop hosted by transport safety experts. 

Train Cabin is considered the icon of Hamdan Smart Station because it has the ability to transfer the trainee from t Smart Station to another location on Sheikh Zayed Road in a few seconds. In addition to the ability of carrying out various security scenarios-based emergency such as hostage detention and criminal cases.
Operating Room is based on the virtual simulation technology to provide the staff with high levels of skilled trainings using smart systems and artificial intelligence techniques. Transport Security Department, uses around (8700) CCTV in Dubai Metro including other security systems. All these new smart systems have been tested and adopted in the Expo 2020 route.
The Future Hall witnesses the unique smart training services that the TSD provides as the first security agency in the field of applying intelligent training through the use of virtual reality technology (VR) by photographing of 360degree that simulates real sites, and through this feature, several scenarios were designed to simulate the situation and identify procedures needed to deal with the event to save lives and maintain properties. In addition, live streaming technology using virtual reality (VR) from metro stations to the future hall allows the trainee to experience a real workplace in station before staring performing his/her duties. The LAB is the window for experimenting modern technologies and smart systems and in the field of securing and inspecting the transportation sector in order to develop the security system in the department.
Moreover, assess the extent of its testing before actually utilization it in metro stations, allowing the best use of them as well as achieving the desired results. Transport Security Department believes in the importance of both theoretical and smart training for its employees and aspires through the Training and Creativity Center and Hamdan Smart station for Simulation and Training Station in Dubai, to be the source of smart training in the transport sector in both regional and global levels.
