New looping animation show 12 PT Benefits

To continue shining a bright light on the benefits of public transport, UITP has expanded its PT Benefits Toolbox. The expansion brings a set of 12 animations, each showcasing a unique benefit of public transport.

Each animation dives deep into one of the benefits of public transport, from how the sector creates local jobs to its ability to improve quality of life.

They are ideal to post on social media, on screens in stations and for presentations to partners and policy makers. Keep reading below the examples to discover the ready made social media posts!

Spreading the word easily

Along with the animations, the expanded toolbox now contains ready-made social media posts tailored for each graphic.

For example, the social media posts talk about how public transport is accessible and affordable for all, how it promotes a healthy and active lifestyle, and how it promotes clean air. For each post, UITP has prepared a text ready to post on any social media channel. But of course, they are adaptable to local languages, markets and objectives.

How others are using the PT Benefits

The PT Benefits are being used by public transport operators and authorities around the world; from swingcards in vehicles to posters in stations.

At COP 27 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt for example the bus operator filled the buses brining delegates to the venue with swingcards. The message? ‘Thank you for using public transport, discover its benefits’.

At the World Urban Forum meanwhile, or during the 2022 EU Mobility Week in Brussels, posters lined stations and vehicles.

For the 2023 EU mobility week, several companies including Italian ATM Milano and Portuguese Metropolitano de Lisboa are sharing the public transport benefits physically and on digital channels.

Other organisations that have used the Public Transport Benefits toolbox on their digital channels include RATP, Indra and MTR.

What are the benefits of public transport?

The Benefits of Public Transport toolbox contains ready made (digital) media assets for marketing, communications and public relations purposes.

Each asset is ready to print. The open files are also included so you can translate the text into your local language if you wish. The open files also have space allocated for your own logo.

They convey the message that public transport is one of the most sustainable and safest modes of transport. It brings benefits to all of society; improving the lives of people, guaranteeing a healthy planet, and stimulating technological, economic and societal progress.

The twelve benefits are:

  • Accessibility & affordability
  • Healthy, active lifestyle
  • Connecting people
  • Number one in safety
  • Clean air
  • Saving the planet
  • Quality of urban life
  • Noise reduction
  • Innovation
  • Boosting the economy
  • Local jobs
  • Bustling cities
