About
The MENA Rail Workshop will bring together rail professionals, industry leaders, and sector representatives to discuss the latest developments in rail transportation across the region, along with emerging technological advancements. As one of the fastest-growing regions for rail investment, MENA has seen significant progress, including the inauguration of six fully automated metro lines in Riyadh, now serving 1.9 million passengers daily.
Despite these advancements, urban rail systems in the region face unique challenges, particularly in achieving sustainability and operational efficiency.
This workshop will provide a platform for professionals from MENA and around the world to share insights, discuss common challenges, and explore best practices. Participants will be encouraged to engage in discussions, exchange expertise, and contribute to innovative solutions for the future of urban rail transport and best practices.
Additionally, the recent launch of the Rail MENA Platform for UITP members will enable industry leaders to collaborate, stay informed on regional developments, exchange knowledge and further establish, and strengthen partnerships.
