UITP India presents the 6th edition of its flagship annual event on Bus ‘UITP India Bus Seminar 2022′. The event will take place on 15 July 2022 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, India.
Government of India is committed to decarbonise public transport in the country by 2030 and adoption of electric buses is being considered as a significant step to promote cleaner modes of public transport. To facilitate this, Government of India has launched schemes such as Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicle (FAME-I and FAME-II) to shift towards electric vehicles. Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) a subsidiary of state-owned Energy Efficiency Services Limited, recently completed one of the world’s largest Electric Bus tender for 5450 electric buses in India.
Keeping in mind the growing importance, new challenges, and a significant push for electric buses, the theme of the UITP India Bus Seminar 2022 is ‘Demystifying Electric Buses for India’. The seminar willwitness representation from state transport undertakings, private bus operators, financing institutions, ministries involved in the Electric Bus landscape of India, and other industry players. It will encompass key national and international speakers sharing their knowledge and experiences on key important topics of Electric buses such as a panel discussion on the Roadmap for Electrification of Indian Bus Systems. Contracting for electric buses, Planning and Operations of electric buses, and Digitalisation in Electric Bus Operations.
Attending the Bus Seminar is a perfect opportunity to gain and share knowledge from various national and international players in the Electric Bus domain.
The 5th edition of the UITP Bus Seminar was conducted in online mode, with key note address delivered by Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog. Held between 15-18 June, the seminar got worldwide recognition with participation from over 600 participants, 300 companies from 44 countries. The seminar explored topics from national programmes in advancing bus services, technological transformations in bus operations, transitioning to electric buses and innovations in the sector. While the seminar was held online due to covid-19 pandemic, it acted as an opportunity for countrywide and worldwide outreach by breaking the barriers of distance.
