Driving Change: UITP Showcases La Rolita’s 100% Electric Bus Fleet with Over 50% Women Employees, Leading Gender Equity and Sustainable Mobility in Bogotá

At a time when the vast majority of public transport operators are struggling to recruit women drivers, and woman bus drivers in particular, La Rolita – operating in Bogotá – employs over 50% women, even in driving positions! After 2 years of operation, what lessons have been learnt from this experience? What is their secret to recruit, train and retain women drivers ?

Giovanni Alexander Peña Camacho, Culture & Human Resources Manager at La Rolita, will present the organisation and explain how they managed to revolutionise urban transport with a vision of sustainability and gender.

This presentation will be followed by a discussion, moderated by Tamara Eelsing (STIB, Brussels), chair of the UITP D&I working group.

Interpretation Spanish/English will be provided.
