About

The workshop aims to discuss and share insights on implementing digital tools for passenger flow management, transitioning to automated metros, and building resilient and future proof metro systems.

Digitalisation plays a crucial role in building, managing and governing complex metro systems worldwide. Metro organisations are adopting new technologies to enhance passenger journeys, making them more comfortable, convenient, and accessible. From initial design and construction to ongoing operations and maintenance, digital tools and technologies are integral across all aspects of metro systems. Digitalisation enables various services in metros, including enhancing security, providing customer service assistance, supporting operations, future proofing systems, and reducing human errors.

Impact of Digitalisation on Key Metro Operations

Real-time information and data through AI-powered tools and digital technologies help metro systems manage commuters better, increase productivity, and operational efficiency. The application of Internet of Things, sensons, and devices offer solutions to prevent incidents and enhance security systems. Digitalisation has significantly impacted metro operations in core areas such as asset management, digital ticketing, predictive maintenance, scheduling and timetabling, rolling stock management, driverless metros, and security enhancement.
